Oh the starts and stops of life.

Interruptions. Pauses. New beginnings. Painful endings. In a single lifetime there are hundreds, maybe thousands of them.

We come to the end of a chapter, and it stings to turn the page. We do so clumsily, tentatively, not really knowing how. Or at least feeling like we don’t know how. But there are new adventures and joys and the ever-present Promise on the next page. So turn it. Turn the page!. Move forward. And we begin there. On the fresh page. Remembering that whenever we want to, we can turn back and review where we came from, who was there with us, and how much we’ve grown into this moment, this page. But we can’t stay there. Move forward.

I (Chay) began blogging for Liberty in 2015 – it feels like a lifetime ago. Since then quite a bit has changed and all of it, though uncomfortable in many ways, has made this post today even sweeter. A new web design, a clearer focus, a more distinct goal, and a new appreciation for the joys and trials that led us here. I have hope for the future. Our God reassures us that “I know the plans I have for you,” and more specifically “plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) And because we have this promise we can move forward confidently, no matter how the last chapter ended.
